About
I’m Joe Kennedy, a filmmaker and editor from Los Angeles. I attended the Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television, and graduated summa cum laude in 2023. As a director, I like making thoughtful, character-driven films with a big heart. I got my first video camera in elementary school, and haven’t looked back since.
I’m currently a Visual Effects Coordinator at Wolverine VFX, where I’ve been thrilled to work on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, YOU, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, and The History of Swear Words. I also work as a freelance editor for independent filmmakers and social media teams.
When I’m not working on a project, I can be found listening to the Beatles, brewing a precise cup of coffee, or researching LA history. My favorite movies include American Graffiti, The Royal Tenenbaums, and Stranger Than Paradise.
